Tuesday 18th March:
Off to the RTA to get a “Blue” slip for the mighty Mazda. As it is currently registered in the ACT (Where we bought it) we now need to get it registered in NSW.
And for this we need a Blue slip (Inspection and vehicle check) and a Green slip (3rd party insurance). I got the blue slip done at the local Mazda dealer and will get the Green slip insurance through the NRMA.
Also need to renew the comprehensive insurance for the Mazda. Got that done at the NRMA along with the contents insurance for our apartment.
Bills, bills and more bills. AAaahhhhh the simple life on Marinduque. We miss it……..
Saturday 22nd March:
Guy was off with the girls today on a harbour dinner cruise.
So after work I headed north to Mount White. Mount White is on the Old Pacific Highway north of Sydney. The old twisty highway was one of my favourite Ducati rides in the old days.
About half way along the old highway is the Road Warriors café where all the bikers stop for their Latte’s….
Anyway I meet up with Mark & Julie and some old Ducati friends at Road Warrior’s for dinner. Ooohh and it was Julie’s birthday so a chocolate cake was produced for desserts.
It was great to see some old familiar Ducati bikes as well. Special mention goes to Andy’s Ducati. He has done an awesome job on modifying it. Very envious.
Ooohhh and it really felt weird driving the old highway in a car. I have never driven it before as I was always on the Ducati.
Wednesday 26th March:
Took Jordan for another driving lesson today. We focused on parallel parking today. I must say that he did a great job. Better than me. Maybe I need lessons……..
Sunday 30th March:
Guy and I went to see the movie “Noah” tonight. 120 minutes of my life I won’t get back. Crap movie.
They just deviated tttooooo much from the original story. Bit like the Bible on Acid……..
Saturday 6th April:
After work Guy and I made our way over to Ben and Samantha’s place (+ 4 young girls) for the renewing of their wedding vows party.
It was a beautiful setting in their backyard of their relatively new house along with the renovations carried out by Samantha’s dad over Xmas. The rain held off and a great time was had by all.
The food was awesome with a huge chicken Paella cooked up by the caterers.
Guy and I also caught up with Dean and Lisa and Wayne and Jenny from Queensland. Dean and Wayne are founders of the “Quality Nude Time” adventure racing team (Ben is a fellow team member) that compete in the 48 hour Geoquest race each year.
Guy and I have supported the team for a number of races before we left for the Philippines along with Jenny and Lisa. It was great to see them all again and talk about the good old days.
Life is good.
