Tuesday 15th April:
Off to get the mighty Mazda registration changed for ACT to NSW. Once I had all the paper work organized and a 45-minute wait at the RTA it was all done. Quicker and easier than expected so all good.
Did my afternoon walk to Dee Why Beach where it was pretty rough, windy and cold. The surfers loved it.
Sunday 20th April:
After I finished work at 3:00pm we loaded up the car and headed for Canberra for a few days with Zali, Jo and Dave.
Jordan drove the first 3 hours and I drove the last hour into Canberra. We passed 4 cop cars on the way, as it is double demerits over the Easter break.
We arrived at 7:30pm to a very nice lamb roast for dinner.
Monday 21st April:
After a sleep in by all it was time for the Easter egg hunt for the big and little kids. Zali’s hunt came first before the big kids (Jo, Dave & Jordan) were let loose in the house.
After lunch it was time for a walk up a nearby “mountain” to burn off some of the chocolate from earlier in the day. After a 30-minute hike we all made it to the top with stunning views of Canberra as it was a glorious cool sunny day.
We even had a mob of locals (Kangaroos) greet us at the top.
Guy, Jo and Jordan set in for a late family gathering with a few drinks to lighten the conversation. Dave and I hit the sack early. It was 2:00am when Guy made it to bed with Jo and Jordan kicking on till the very early hours of the morning (4:00am to be exact).
Tuesday 22nd April:
A bit of a sleep-in by all was the order of the day. By the time we had lunch and got packed it was 1:30pm as we left Canberra. We had a good clear run back to Sydney by avoiding the Easter traffic and were home in just over 3-hours (No stops along the way).
No work for me tomorrow as it was my “Sunday” so looking forward to an easy day.
Friday 25th April:
ANZAC Day where we honor all the men and women who fought for freedom for this great nation we live in.
Guy and I had a nice sleep in before a stroll down to the beach for fish and chips followed by a very nice Chai Latte to wash it all down.
A walk around the rocks was had by all before a leisurely stroll back home.
I am suffering a bit at the moment. An old back injury is causing me a bit of agro. I guess it is payback for all the abused I have inflicted on this old body many years ago.
Sunday 4th May:
Still suffering a bit from my old back injury. Feeling much better but just taking too long for my liking to get better. Getting old sucks.
Life is good.
Trevor & Guy.
